The Ecosystem Collective currently works in two distinct categories. Forestry and forest product professionals looking to maximize the climate benefit of their operations and product offerings. And companies looking to maximize their positive social and environmental impact through their investment or purchasing decisions. We also help governments and municipalities identify and reach climate targets through natural assets.

Forest Restoration
and Management
So much of the work we do today stems from our early experiences with industrial tree planting: tree plantations that have little to no lasting climate benefit. That’s why we focus on doing it right: planting a diversity of climate-resilient native trees and ensuring that they are protected into the future. To date, our members have planted more than 3 million trees in Canada and internationally.
Carbon Consulting and Supply Chain Design
We help municipalities, governments, companies and forest owners understand the opportunities and challenges of fighting climate change with forests. We find markets for forest products that come from carbon dense, well-managed forests and work with companies to find opportunities to build carbon capture and storage into their existing product supply chains.
Carbon Offsets and Land Conservation
Using robust, internationally recognized protocols, we are able to measure, account for and develop management strategies for the generation of carbon offsets on forest lands. We have the expertise to certify and create carbon offsets from healthy forests. We advise clients in all aspects of the process, including scoping and business planning of potential projects, project design, managing, validation and verification processes and project operation.
